Macy Stahl is an Exercise Physiology Master’s student at the University of Virginia. Along with her studies, Macy works in research that assesses the link between exercise and disease prevention and treatment. Outside of school, Macy is an avid volunteer for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation and serves as advocacy chair on the Foundation’s National Council of College Leaders. The NCCL is a 20-person council of college students that advocates and brings support to individuals fighting Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis. As a patient herself, Macy understands the impact that a network and resources have on someone’s disease journey, and hopes that she can provide support and a voice to any other patients in need. Macy has a passion for physical activity and nutrition, and hopes to share this excitement with the Hygeia community.

Some of the ways I care for myself are: Prioritizing movement every day, challenging my mind with puzzles, and reflecting on the things I am grateful for at the end of the day,

I feel gratitude for: My family, friends, and health.
