Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, Diabetes Educator, Health & Wellness Coach, Yoga Therapist

Cynthia is the visionary co-founder and current CEO for the Hygeia Wellness Park. She’s worked as a clinician-nutritionist/diabetes educator at the University of Virginia and University of Maryland Medicine, Baltimore. Cynthia’s taught nutrition to medical students and to undergrads and been health coaching faculty at Georgetown University and with the Veteran’s Administration. Her work spans private practice, spa-resort settings, research and the retirement industry.

She’s a graduate of University of California@ Davis (MS, Nutrition) and Duke (Integrative Health Coaching certificate). Among her happy accomplishments are starting innovative programs like the first 5-star spa cuisine at the Greenbrier Resort, Mind-body skills training for people with type 2 diabetes, and co-authoring Nourishing Resilience Essentials with Kris Bonham RDN.

Some of the ways I care for myself are..   to move daily (walking, and when possible, yoga), finding balance (like enjoying conversations with friends, also time alone); and engaging in creative work with some tangible outputs.

I feel gratitude for … my husband and home in Virginia.

I savor … delicious & nutritious food, time in nature, learning about healthful wellbeing; dancing, biking, journaling and travel.
